Robert Frost on Education

Robert Frost "Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence."

Proverbs
1:5 A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,
1:6 To understand a proverb and an enigma, The words of the wise and their riddles.
3:7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.
3:35 The wise shall inherit glory, But shame shall be the legacy of fools.
6:6 Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise,
8:33 Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it.
9:8 Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.
9:9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
9:12 If you are wise, you are wise for yourself, And if you scoff, you will bear it alone."
10:1 A wise son makes a glad father, But a foolish son is the grief of his moth
10:5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son; He who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.
10:8 The wise in heart will receive commands, But a prating fool will fall.
10:10 He who winks with the eye causes trouble, But a prating fool will fall.
10:14 Wise people store up knowledge, But the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
10:19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.
12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise.
12:16 A fool's wrath is known at once, But a prudent man covers shame.
12:18 There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health.
13:1 A wise son heeds his father's instruction, But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke.
14:3 In the mouth of a fool is a rod of pride, But the lips of the wise will preserve them.
14:16 A wise man fears and departs from evil, But a fool rages and is self-confident.
15:2 The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, But the mouth of fools pours forth foolishness.
15:5 A fool despises his father's instruction, But he who receives correction is prudent.
15:7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, But the heart of the fool does not do so.
15:12 A scoffer does not love one who corrects him, Nor will he go to the wise.
15:31 The ear that hears the rebukes of life Will abide among the wise.
17:7 Excellent speech is not becoming to a fool, Much less lying lips to a prince.
17:10 Rebuke is more effective for a wise man Than a hundred blows on a fool.
18:1 A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment.
18:2 A fool has no delight in understanding, But in expressing his own heart.
18:15 The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
19:20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter days.
20:3 It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel.
21:11 When the scoffer is punished, the simple is made wise; But when the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge.
22:17 Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, And apply your heart to my knowledge;
23:9 Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words.
23:19 Hear, my son, and be wise; And guide your heart in the way.
24:7 Wisdom is too lofty for a fool; He does not open his mouth in the gate.
26:4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly, Lest you also be like him.
26:12 Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
28:11 The rich man is wise in his own eyes, But the poor who has understanding searches him out.
28:26 He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, But whoever walks wisely will be delivered.
29:8 Scoffers set a city aflame, But wise men turn away wrath.
29:9 If a wise man contends with a foolish man, Whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace.
29:11 A fool vents all his feelings, But a wise man holds them back.

Overcome Obstacles

Ernest Shackleton, Arctic explorer "Obstacles are merely things you overcome."

1 John 2:13 I write to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, Because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, Because you have known the Father.

1 John 2:14 I have written to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one.

1 John 4:4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world--our faith.

1 John 5:5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Revelation 2:7 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God."'

Revelation 2:11 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death."'

Revelation 2:17 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it."'

Revelation 2:26 "And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations--

Revelation 3:5 "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

Revelation 3:12 "He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

Revelation 3:21 "To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Revelation 21:7 "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

Mississippi Wisom

Quote cited from Jerry Clower of Liberty MS

"I don't care how good you can pick a guitar,
how good you can sing,
how good you can tell a story,
how good you can perform ...

If you still ain't good people,
you ain't nothing."

Ecclesiastes 3:12 I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives,

James 4:17 Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

Success by Ralph Waldo Emerson

"To laugh often and much;
to win the respect of intelligent people;
to appreciate beauty;
to find the best in others;
to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition;
to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.

This is to have successful."

Ralph Waldo Emerson

You can't teach

Galileo quote "You can't teach a person anything. You can only help him discover it for himself."

People will not listen to you until they are ready to hear the answer. An answer to a person without the question is useless.

Proverbs

12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise.

18:2 A fool has no delight in understanding, But in expressing his own heart.

23:9 Do not speak in the hearing of a fool, For he will despise the wisdom of your words.

26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, Lest he be wise in his own eyes.

29:9 If a wise man contends with a foolish man, Whether the fool rages or laughs, there is no peace.

Live for today; You are not promised a tomorrow

Moliere quote "Men spend most of their lives worrying about things that never happen."

Matthew 6:
30 "Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
32 "For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
34 "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

James 4:
13 Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit";
14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
15 Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that."

Choose how you live this day wisely

Psalm 118:24 This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Don't WASTE IT!!

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.

Watch your thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your habits, they become your character.
Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.

We all have dire situations in our lives. It is how we view them that makes us different.

Live life. Don't Worry; Be Happy! It is a choice! It is YOUR choice.

About God and Barbers

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: 'I don't believe that God exists.'

'Why do you say that?' asked the customer.

'Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.
Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving God who would allow all of these things.'

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt. The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber:

'You know what? Barbers do not exist.'

'How can you say that?' asked the surprised barber. 'I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!'

'No!' the customer exclaimed. 'Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside.'

'Ah, but barbers DO exist! That's what happens when people do not come to me.'

'Exactly!' affirmed the customer. 'That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! That's what happens when people do not go to Him and don't look to Him for help. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world.'

Problems

The problem isn't the problem, the problem is the attitude about the problem. from Kelly Young

And remember, the solution to any problem simply changes the problem. Problems are opportunities to test our attitude and to help us overcome the world.

Revelation 21:7 "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.

We don't "overcome" chocolate and wine and other things we enjoy. We can only "overcome" challenges in our lives.

Lessons from Noah

I am not afraid of tomorrow - for I have lived thru yesterday, and I will love today . . . . .

Noah's Ark : Everything I need to know, I learned from Noah's Ark .

ONE : Don't miss the boat.
TWO : Remember that we are all in the same boat!
THREE : Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the Ark.
FOUR : Stay fit. When you're 60 years old, someone may ask you to do something really big.
FIVE : Don't listen to critics; just get on with the job that needs to be done.
SIX: Build your future on high ground.
SEVEN : For safety's sake, travel in pairs.
EIGHT : Speed isn't always an advantage. The snails were on board with the cheetahs.
NINE : When you're stressed, float awhile.
TEN : Remember, the Ark was built by amateurs; the Titanic by professionals.
ELEVEN : No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting.

Most people walk in and out of your life,
but FRIENDS leave footprints in your heart.

The purpose of memories

"Today I know that ... memories are the key, not to the past, but to the future. I know that the experiences of our lives, when we let God use them, become the mysterious and perfect preparation for the work He will give us to do."

Corrie ten Boom (The Hiding Place, 1971)

RECALL NOTICE:

I just received this today from a cousin.

The Maker of all human beings (GOD) is recalling all units manufactured, regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and central component of the heart. This is due to a malfunction in the original prototype units code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. This defect has been technically termed "Sub-sequential Internal Non-Morality," or more commonly known as S.I.N., as it is primarily expressed.

Some of the symptoms include:
1. Loss of direction
2. Foul vocal emissions
3. Amnesia of origin
4. Lack of peace and joy
5. Selfish or violent behavior
6. Depression or confusion in the mental component
7. Fearfulness
8. Idolatry
9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, who is neither liable nor at fault for this defect, is providing factory-authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this defect.

The Repair Technician, JESUS, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost of these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

The number to call for repair in all areas is: P-R-A-Y-E-R.
Once connected, please upload your burden of SIN through the REPENTANCE procedure. Next, download ATONEMENT from the Repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component.

No matter how big or small the SIN defect is, Jesus will replace it with:
1. Love
2. Joy
3. Peace
4. Patience
5. Kindness
6. Goodness
7. Faithfulness
8. Gentleness
9. Self control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these fixes.

WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any manufacturer warranties, exposing the unit to dangers and problems too numerous to list and will result in the human unit being permanently impounded. For free emergency service, call on Jesus.

DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The SIN defect will not be permitted to enter God' Kingdom so as to prevent contamination of that facility. Thank you for your attention!

- GOD

P.S. Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important recall notice, and you may contact the Father any time by 'Knee mail'!

Choose Happiness

Abraham Lincoln is quoted as saying "People are about as happy as they make up their minds to be."

Choose happiness. It is your decision.
