It's a Pretty Good World

It's a pretty good world - this world of ours -
Full of Heavenly life and beautiful flowers.

Full of gladness and joy, if you want it to be -
Full of beautiful sights, if you would only see.

And though often we're bumped and tossed and whirled,
Even at that - it's a pretty good world.

It's a pretty good world, it seems to me -
Exactly the spot where I'm happy to be.

Here in the midst of sorrow and care -
There's pleasure and happiness everywhere.

And, though often the banner of hate is unfurled, even at that,
It's a pretty good world.

It's a pretty good world, and it's yours and mine -
To fill with gloom or bright sunshine;

To fill with sadness or fill with tears.
God gave it to you and He gave it to me --

So, let's make it the world it ought to be!
