It's a Pretty Good World

It's a pretty good world - this world of ours -
Full of Heavenly life and beautiful flowers.

Full of gladness and joy, if you want it to be -
Full of beautiful sights, if you would only see.

And though often we're bumped and tossed and whirled,
Even at that - it's a pretty good world.

It's a pretty good world, it seems to me -
Exactly the spot where I'm happy to be.

Here in the midst of sorrow and care -
There's pleasure and happiness everywhere.

And, though often the banner of hate is unfurled, even at that,
It's a pretty good world.

Friendship

Give me the love of friends and I shall not complain of cloudy sky or little dream that fade and die.

Only One

Most all other beautiful things come in twos, threes, dozens or hundreds: Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets and rainbows, but only one mother in the whole world.

God's Wisdom

God is truly wise. He made sadness so we'd know joy; pain so we'd have pleasure; war, so we'd seek peace; hate so we can love; and a morning so we can face tomorrow.

Do your recall when Edmund Hillary and his native guide, Tenzing, made their historic climb of Mt. Everest? Coming down from the peak Hillary suddenly lost his footing.
